Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
A National Pledge with Local Roots
As leaders in the American Marketing Association, we want every person who interacts with our organization to feel welcome. It’s why we took AMA’s national pledge to continually improve and support diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in our community. Our chapter recognizes that true inclusion thrives when every perspective is heard and valued. We’re committed to building something that mirrors the richness of our community, both within our ranks and in the stories we elevate from the Lincoln community.
Our DEI&A Goals
For our chapter, it’s important that we champion DEI&A in all its forms. These tenets aren’t a checklist we mark off at the end of the year. They’re how we hold ourselves accountable for amplifying every marketer in our communities — no matter their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or identity.
Amplify the Underrepresented
Highlight diverse voices in our chapter programming, leadership, and partnerships, and use a range of experiences and perspectives to inform all of our chapter’s decisions.
Champion All
Advocate for fair access to resources and opportunities for every marketer in our community, making it easier for them to advance their career.
Promote a Culture of Understanding
Create spaces for open dialogue and honest conversations to make everyone feel safe and welcome.
Build the Next Generation
Partner with educational institutions and community organizations to set the next generation of marketers up for success — from students to young professionals and continual learners. Work toward a future where everyone sees themselves reflected in the stories we tell.
Together, we will use the power of our collective voices to outline the roles marketers can play in standing for and delivering on inclusion; the ideals, values, and principles that promote equality, respect, and unity.
