Description:

Workplace inclusion requires a collaborative effort across all levels of an organization, from individual self-awareness to challenging entrenched systemic barriers, with crucial support from management. In this session, we’ll explore the ABCs of Workplace Inclusion through discussions and interactive exploration. Discover the critical role of fostering a culture of accountability where all stakeholders are actively engaged in creating an inclusive environment.

We will explore strategies to identify and overcome barriers to inclusion, which range from unconscious biases to broader systemic challenges. Additionally, learn how prioritizing continuous learning and adaptation can fuel sustainable progress towards a more inclusive workplace for all. This session offers practical insights and actionable steps to cultivate a culture of belonging where every voice is valued and heard.

Bio:

Nathan Hé is the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement at the Nebraska Alumni Association. Nathan has been instrumental in launching the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s first Alumni of Color Network, Pride LGBTQA+ Alumni Network, First-Generation Alumni Network, and International Alumni Network.

As a first-generation college graduate and immigrant, Nathan earned both a BA in Advertising and Public Relations and a BS in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was inducted into the Alpha Delta Sigma Honor Society by the American Advertising Federation. In 2022, Nathan received the Young Professional Group Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award and was recognized with the Chancellor’s Award in 2023, and recognized by the ACLU Nebraska in 2024 for his advocacy work and commitment to enhancing communication engagement.
