Community Engagement Manager – Nebraska Public Media

Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Director, the Community Engagement Manager will support Nebraska Public Media’s vision to connect and empower every Nebraskan. They will be a key member of the team working to identify and connect the organization with many audience groups across the state, encompassing the variety of experiences and communities in Nebraska. This position is responsible for managing multiple local and national projects, many with grant funding, and supervision of staff. National content from PBSNPR as well as local programs/resources from Nebraska Public Media will be used to extend the reach and impact of the organization. The individual in this position will assist with collecting information from community groups to inform our work and build a deeper understanding of our communities’ needs and aspirations. This person will gather information for grant applications and maintain budgets associated with them.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, community planning or other relevant field and three years’ experience working with community organizations in an informal educational capacity; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with logistics, planning and group facilitation. Community involvement, non-profit and or related industry experience. Supervisory experience. Must have strong project management, organization and communication skills and be a collaborative minded team player. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of constituencies. Ability to work & solve problems independently. Familiarity with media production.
